We begin early at UNESCO World Heritage site Stevns Klint, having the dramatic limestone cliffs almost to ourselves before powering through to Køge for a well-deserved poké bowl and the delightful discovery of peanut butter mochi. Despite the challenge of getting back on the bikes after a seaside rest, the final 12 kilometers to Copenhagen bring waves of excitement and achievement. Our epic journey from Berlin concludes in Denmark's vibrant capital, where we celebrate with deer park strolls, cozy cafes, and cultural exploration - having conquered 900+ kilometers of unforgettable gravel cycling adventure.

April 17, 2025A pivotal day as we cross from Germany into Denmark aboard the morning ferry from Rostock to Gedser. After witnessing a spectacular sunrise from our rooftop terrace, we join fellow cyclists, a Swedish school class, and stylish Japanese-German rockers for the two-hour Baltic Sea crossing. Denmark greets us with cooler temperatures and stronger winds, but the excitement of reaching a new country energizes our 58-kilometer ride through Zealand's countryside. A falafel stop in sleepy Nykøbing Falster provides comfort food before we settle into an unexpected highway motel complete with fine dining - a surreal but delightful contrast to our outdoor adventure.
Day 5: Güstrow
April 16, 2025From overnight rain to morning sunshine, day five unfolds with serendipitous moments as we cycle 79 kilometers through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern toward Güstrow. The discovery of a rare four-leaf clover during breakfast sets the tone for a fortunate day filled with cobblestone village roads, rolling hills, and a refreshing ice cream stop in Krakow am See. Our good luck charm proves its worth when we arrive early at camp to discover an unexpected all-you-can-eat buffet - perfect fuel for two hungry cyclists.

Fueled by homemade banana bread and warmed by morning sunshine, we cover 68 comfortable kilometers through Germany's northern countryside. The route takes us past blossoming spring meadows and peaceful villages, with a satisfying Italian lunch break before reaching our beautiful lakeside camp at Wagnitzsee. Despite yesterday's 90km challenge, our legs feel strong and ready for more adventure.
