Today was our last “easy day” (less than 20km) from the pilgrimage. Also, we broke the 1000km mark since we started! More and more we’re having the feeling that we’re almost there 😬!

We visited temples 71 to 76 and the highlight of the day was definitely temple 75. This temple is so important that the whole city is named after the temple (Zentsūji). The reason for that is because Zentsūji is the birthplace of Kūkai, which is this guy who is accredited with founding the Shikoku pilgrimage. And since this year would be his 1250th birthday, there were some celebrations happening there. It was by far the busiest temple we visited until now (also because it’s Golden Week here in Japan, a big holiday week).
