Temple 66-67
April 30, 2023Since today we would start the day with a Henro Korogashi (the difficult passages of the Shikoku 88 temples pilgrimage), we had breakfast at 6am and soon after we began our ascent to temple 66, the highest temple of the whole pilgrimage. Two hours later we arrived at the temple (which is located at an elevation of 911 meters) and thankfully we had obentos 🍙 prepared by our 94 year old host (and packed in a newspaper 🗞️😅), since there was no other way of getting food up there.
We had no surprises for the rest of the day. From temple 66 we walked down for about two hours more and visited temple 67 and yet again another two hours stretch to our accommodation.
