Today we had a β€œloop day”: we started and finished the day at the same spot, meaning that we could leave our backpack at the hotel and walk light. Even though we walked for 26km, it feels almost like a rest day.

The weather was milder than the past days and we hiked most of the time on unpaved terrain. Also, the two temples that we visited today were astonishing. Temple 44 was on top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful trees. Temple 45 was probably the most impressive temple we visited so far (it’s our second favorite, only behind the colorful temple 37 🌈).

No backpacks, nice weather, no roads, lots of nature and beautiful temples? This is the recipe for a perfect day!

PS: Temple 45 was really spectacular. We arrived through a dense forest, with massive trees 🌲. On its approach we passed by 36 Buddhas statues πŸ—Ώ and a locked gate that gives access to a challenging (and apparently dangerous) climb πŸ§—β€β™€οΈ on the big rocks πŸͺ¨ that surround the temple (you have to request the key at the temple but we preferred not to risk our lives this time πŸ˜…). We were content to β€œonly” climb a ladder πŸͺœ that led us to a cave on the rock just above the temple.
