Last night on the PCT
August 22, 2024Day 127
Ride from Mazama to Hart’s Pass, then Harts’s Pass to mile 2638.3
PCT Miles: 13.6 (21.8km)
Total Miles: 2638.3 (4221.3km)
From Lion’s Den there’s a trail angel who does shuttles to Hart’s Pass, about one our ride. There was a full van leaving at 6:30am and I was scheduled to leave with two other hikers at 9:30am.
With time to spare in the morning, I used one of the loaner bikes 🚲 that they have here and went to the bakery. I had the best cinnamon roll that I ever had in my life, hands down. Good start for the penultimate day on the PCT!
At 9:30am, the two other hikers decided to take a zero (they were vortexed by the Lion’s Den and the cinnamon rolls) and I was the only hiker in the shuttle. I could lay down and I literally took a half hour nap!
On the trail itself nothing special. It’s pretty cold, but hopefully it won’t rain and I’ll stay dry for my last day!
While I was having dinner, two southbounders arrived and joined me at camp: it was Pete and Nick! They finished the PCT earlier today and now they’re hiking back, since they don’t want hike into Canada.
