Day 116

Mile 2287.4 to mile 2310.0

PCT Miles: 22.6 (36.2km)

Total Miles: 2310.0 (3696.0km)

The first ten miles of the day, from the campsite to White Pass Kracker Barrel (the General Store where my next resupply box is), were under quite some smoke. It was a bit not ideal to breathe but I kept hiking β€” what else can you do? β€” and at 10:30 I arrived at Kracker Barrel with no major incidents.

Still in the morning I met the first Brazilians on trail (other than me, of course). It was a couple, Paula and Ramon, and that was the second time that they’re section hiking the PCT (the first time was 2019).

At Kracker Barrel, the usual in-and-out business: grab the resupply box, charge everything, eat β€œtown food” (frozen burrito and coffee), rest and go back to trail! At 1pm I was already hiking north again.

After resupplying, I’m currently carrying 4 days worth of food. I just realized that this is the last time on the PCT that I will carry such a big amount (it’s crazy to think that I already carried NINE days of food in the Sierra!).

Hiking in the afternoon was pretty chill, with no stress of making big miles. With the last trail closures, I’m at least one week ahead of schedule. In fact, because of the upcoming wildfire-related trail closures ahead (where I’ll probably have to skip around 150 miles more), I might be as close as two weeks of finishing the PCT!
