There was nothing else on my mind today other than “buffet lunch at Timberline Lodge”!

Lunch starts being served at 12 and I had easy 10 miles to do in the morning. It was a fairly steep uphill but I was fueled by the excitement to have unlimited fresh and warm food. I arrived at the lodge at 10:30 and had more than enough time to chill and charge my electronics.

The trail was packed with day hikers and tourists. To be honest, it seemed a very nice place to spend a Sunday or a weekend. There were so many families and people of all ages hiking, mountain biking, taking photographs and observing nature with binoculars. I’m not sure all of them understood why some of the hikers (like me) looked so dirty and worn out 🙃.

At 12 on the dot me with a group of other 6 hikers (only one, Andrew, that I already knew) sat on a table and started our little gluttony party. Again, I’m sure our collective smelliness caught some undesired attention from non-thru hikers at the restaurant. On our table, there were piles of meat on the plates of the meat eaters. I had six plates two beers and two beers in front of me. Finally I feel moderately full!

I was expecting a bit more of variety but honestly I can’t complain. I had lots of fresh salad and vegetables, which is luxury on the PCT. I ended up spending five and a half hours at the lodge, charging, resting, calling Maike 💜 and I also left almost all my food on the hiker box. I have now with me only the minimum for dinner tonight (tortilla with nutella) and food for tomorrow. I want to arrive in Cascade Locks (44.2 miles ahead of me) for breakfast on Tuesday🤞!

I hiked just for two more hours and found a cute little spot to camp amongst wildflowers 🌺.
