July 25, 2024Day 99
Ashland to mile 1742.3
PCT Miles: 22.6 (36.2km)
Total Miles: 1742.3 (2787.7km)
I really enjoyed staying at The Columbia Hotel! So far, my favorite place to stay on the PCT! Jay, I wish all the success to your business! Thank you for picking me up and dropping me off at the trailhead!
In the morning I went to two different coffee shops before Jay would drop me off at 9am. I had a nice avocado toast for breakfast and I was ready to start the next section of the PCT!
Hiking was chill without surprises. Itβs much less warm than the previous days and the path was very mild elevation-wise. Even though I started hiking after 9:30am, by 6pm I was already at the campsite, 22.6 miles ahead! Good out-of-town day!
My backpack has never been so light when leaving town after resupplying. Iβm bringing food for only 4 days and I hope to grab my package with more food on the fifth day. Tonight was also my first time cold soaking and I must say that I enjoyed my dinner very much (which is good, because I have the same dinner for the coming 12 nights!).
My plan is to hike Oregon as fast as I can. I want to finish hiking in Oregon in less than two weeks and finally take a zero in Cascade Locks (where I sent all my stuff to), just across the river from Washington (the last state of the PCT).
