I had the whole afternoon free yesterday, so I could do laundry, shower, rest, plan and resupply. I want to leave Ranchita with enough food until Idyllwild, 77 miles ahead. That’s about 4 to 5 days. Besides food, I also bought more fuel ⛽️ for my stove, sunscreen (my calves and lips are a bit sunburnt). The highlight is the dehydrated peanut butter 🀀🀀!

It was time for me and Bloopu to part ways. I had a needle and thread πŸͺ‘ that I got from Scout and Frodo and I knew the theory behind popping a blister and draining it out so you can keep hiking without it bursting into your dirty socks. I learned this before going to my first Camino de Santiago in 2017 but I very rarely have blisters (knock on wood 🀜πŸ’₯πŸͺ΅ ) and never needed to do it.

After sterilizing the needle with fire and alcohol, I popped Bloopu and the blood started to leak through the thread. I left it for a few minutes and it was mostly dry! As I ran the remaining thread through the blister it sucked all the blood away! Perfect! I patched everything with plasters and so long, Bloopu πŸ‘‹!

I also fully charged my devices, since I’ll be with little to no electricity and internet during the coming 4-5 days!

Time for a good night of sleep with sheets, pillow and unlimited filtered water. What a life!
